How to run this Virtual Voicemail Assistant demo

  1. Choose an environment and login your RingCentral account.
    You can setup a dedicated extension with a direct phone number and setup the voicemail inbox as discussed in this article.
  2. Click the settings icon at the top-right corner and change the settings accordingly.
    • Select a transcription service option.
    • Customize the reply SMS message to back to caller after receiving a voicemail.
    • Delegation: Choose an extension/user from your account and assign with certain categories. That user will receive a notification via SMS every time there is a voicemail assigned to the user.
  3. Make a call to the phone number of the extension and leave a voicemail with technical questions related to using APIs from RingCentral Developer platform.
    Example messages:
    "I have a problem to send SMS using RingCentral platorm. Please help."
    "I cannot login to the platform with my extension username and password. It looks like the server is down. Please call me back as soon as possible."
    Note:
    This is just a demo app. The categorization data model was trained with just a small dataset. Thus the accuracy is not great. Also, the urgency detection data model is just a demo data model provided by Monkey Learn AI service. It won't detect urgency based on business seriousness!
